General Long Snus Available Soon

Earlier today (here in Eastern Daylight Time), I received a press release from Swedish Match announcing the launch of a new brand of snus, called General Long. This new brand comes in two varieties; General Long Portion and General Long Sterk. General Long portion comes with with 8mg of nicotine per 0.91 gram pouch, whereas the stronger General Long Sterk packs a punch with 14mg of nicotine per 0.91 gram pouch, perfect for early mornings or times when you need a boost! It also comes with 26 portions per can, as opposed to the standard 24 in current brands of General.

General Long Snus

From what I understand, the primary flavoring in these brands is tobacco, and it has the “same loved General taste”, so I imagine that it tastes quite like General Portion. The portions of General Long are also longer and thinner than most brands of snus, and are similar to those of 01 Portion Snus.

Also, the recipe has been improved, and the “perfected recipe” has lower moisture levels in order to give you the full taste of original snus, but less drip like white portion snus. The logo has also been changed, and the new wing logo “symbolizes the power in the General taste and the freedom of the optimized fit.”

General Long Sterk Snus

General Long snus is expected to launch in Week 38 (the week of September 19th 2010), and General Long Sterk will follow on Week 44 (the week of October 31st). I’ll be looking forward to reviewing both of them, especially since it has been a while since I’ve had a good tobacco flavored snus.
