01 Original Portion Snus review
Posted by James in Snus reviewsToday, I decided to review the 01 Original Portion Snus, an interesting Swedish Snus. 01 Origninal is part of Snus tobacco manufacturer Swedish Match’s Lab Series lineup (alongside 02 Strong Portion). Released in October of 2009, the lab series was the result of Swedish Match’s “Quest to Rethink the Whole Concept of Snus.”
Taste:
The first thing that you notice about the 01 Original portion is that it is moist (Visit the Snus Glossary to learn the difference between original and white portions), and therefore the taste of the Snus comes on rather quickly. It is a Snus with a dominant tobacco flavor, with a hint of nut in the background. If you like your Snus to have a noticeable tobacco flavor, then this is the perfect snus for you. I enjoy the taste of 01 Original, and is solid tasting. The nicotine content is an average of 8mg per portion, ranking it as a regular strength portion.

The design of the 01 Original Portion is where this Snus really shines. Swedish Match claims that the Lab Series
… is a unique new product, the result of extensive consumer research. It has been through intensive testing and development to create the ultimate snus for a new generation.
I have a feeling that Swedish Match must have really done their homework here, because this portion is great. It is made with a non-drip formula, which makes the portion much less runny. The portion itself is also very slim, making it comfortable and discreet in your lip. I can keep a portion of 01 Original in for up to two hours at a time, making it the longest lasting Snus I have tried to date.

Conclusion
If you are someone who loves your Snus to have a dominant tobacco flavor, then this is an excellent Snus for you. The taste, non-drip formula, and long portion design make it very easy to keep the portion in discreetly for long periods of time.

- Tobacco taste can be a little too strong for those who enjoy flavored Snus.
