General Long Snus Review

So after a little while with no reviews, I have managed to obtain the newly released General Long Portion. Created by Swedish Match, General Long combines the delicious flavor of General Portion Snus with the slim portion design of 01 Original. The can also bears a new logo (a wing), which the symbolizes the power in the General taste and the freedom of the optimized fit. Each can of General Long contains 26 portions of snus, which is 2 portions more than a standard can of snus!

Taste:

The taste of General Long is very similar to that of General Portion. Upon putting a portion in, I got a strong and spicy tobacco flavor with a hint of citrus. The flavor is very good for those who enjoy tobacco dominant flavors in their snus. The recipe has been perfected according to Swedish Match, and as a result General Long has the same taste as an original portion snus, but has much less drip like a white portion. There is approximately 8mg of nicotine in each portion of snus, making General Long standard in the nicotine category.

Portion:

My main complaint about General Portion was that it was much too moist. The new long portions are absolutely fantastic in terms of overcoming this problem. They are slightly moist, and have little to no drip. As a result, I was able to keep a portion of General Long in for over an hour without any issues. The new long and thin portion design also makes General Long very comfortable in my lip, while at the same time making it very discreet. The photo below demonstrates the size of General Long compared to Thunder Mini and Lucky Strike White. The portions closely resemble the Thunder Mini in size, but the General portions have more tobacco in them.

Conclusion:

Overall, General Long is a solid new addition to the General Lineup. The new formula reduces drip, while keeping the the same General taste. The long and thin portions are also comfortable in the lip and are very discreet. I think that Swedish Match has been paying attention to what consumers want, and has created a brand that manages to fix the few problems of the original General.
