Lucky Strike White Snus review

Posted by James in Snus reviews

In case you weren’t aware, Lucky Strike White is my favorite Snus so far, just barely beating out Skruf original! I decided that since I am quite familiar with it, I may as well write a review on it, especially since it is a popular Snus.

Unfortunately, Lucky Strike brand Snus is not available in the United States for trademark reasons, and therefore if you are a United States resident, many Snus retailers will  not ship it to you. I believe the reason for this is that the company who owns the U.S rights to the Lucky Strike name may be planning on launching an American version of Lucky Strike Snus under the same name.

Initial thoughts

The first thing that I love about Lucky Strike White is the can design. It is a metal can coated with a layer of what I believe is rubber. The can is very clean and professional looking, and I find myself saving Lucky Strike cans in order to re-purpose them (more on this later).

The Snus itself

When you open the can for the first time, you are greeted with a strong mix of ammonia and tobacco smell, which to a seasoned Snus user smells very nice. The portions are regular sized, and contain approximately 8mg nicotine per portion, which is an average amount for Swedish Snus. The material that holds the Snus together in the portion is a little rough, and I am not as fond of it as I am of other portions (I love the portion style of 01 Original Snus), as it can  be rough on the gums sometimes (especially after heavy usage). Since it is a white Snus, it does not come pre-moistened, so it will take a little longer for you to feel the effects of the nicotine from the Snus.

Finishing off my can of Lucky Strike White Snus

Flavor

This is where Lucky Strike White truly excels as a Snus brand. Once you put the Snus in, you slowly begin to taste a hint of toasted tobacco. Lucky Strike White has very little flavoring besides the original tobacco taste. Despite the tobacco taste, it is quite a mild taste compared to brands such as Skruf and General Snus. The portions are also very long lasting, and I can keep a portion in for approximately one and a half hours before I discard the it, and during this time the Snus does not lose its flavor.

Conclusion

Lucky Strike White is a great Snus brand for daily use. It sports a great can design, has a delicious taste, and lasts a long time. My only complaint is that the material used to make the portions can be a little uncomfortable to some users, as I find that it can rub against your lip. Although this has not happened to me in a little while since I tend to alternate between right and left upper lip when I use Lucky Strike.
