Thunder Blue Review
Posted by James in Snus reviewsSo after being on vacation for most of this week, I’m back with a new Snus review! Today on the chopping block is Thunder Blue, a snus sold exclusively by BuySnus. Thunder Blue is manufactured by V2 Tovacco, and is part of the Thunder lineup of snus.
Taste
Before I mention the taste of Thunder Blue, I’d like to briefly mention the smell. When you open a can of Thunder Blue, you are greeted with a strong smell that reminds me of windex, and is not very pleasant at all compared to other brands. Upon putting a portion in my mouth, I was greeted by a slight taste of juniper berry mixed along with some other herbs to balance out the taste. The taste is not nearly as bad as the smell, but it isn’t one that I found to be very memorable (for a juniper taste, I much prefer Göteborgs Rapé No.2). Thunder Blue is an extra stark snus and has a nicotine content of 16mg per gram, making it high in nicotine content. After about fifteen minutes with the portion in I could already feel a heavy nicotine rush, especially since I am not used to extra stark varieties of snus.
Portion
The Thunder Blue portions fit comfortably in my mouth and are soft on my gums. The material used to make the portions is very similar to that of General Portion Snus. The portions didn’t drip for me, but considering the fact that I only keep this snus in for 25 minutes at a time, I can’t imagine drip being an issue. However, since the portions are made similar to General’s, I will assume that there shouldn’t be any issues if one were to leave the portion in for an hour or so.
Conclusion
Overall, I found this snus to be interesting, but not especially tasty. The strong smell of windex is a little strange, and I’m not sure what causes Thunder Blue to smell this way. I would recommend this Snus to anyone who enjoys a high nicotine content in their snus with little drip and a taste reminiscent of juniper berries.
